World Integrity Center, India presents to you your own Dehradun Community Literature Festival for the year 2017. This eclectic planned event will feature and host a bunch of thirty authors representing various genres; who will excite you, provoke you, and share with you their own artistic history, intellectual journey and life that they have instilled in their characters and words over the years. One of a kind in Dehradun, this is the best opportunity to explore Dehradun, that is bordered by the majestic Himalayas in the North and the Sivallik Hills to the South, the holy Ganges river on the East and river Yamuna to the West. Certainly no reason to miss this opportunity of experiencing a city, art, architecture, stories, voices and the culture that World Integrity Center India, provides and practices!

FROM THE AUTHORS
Art to me is one of the most selfless acts and one of the most ambiguous terms because everyone is an artist in their own right. WIC Dehradun festival saw the creation of a festival that didn’t follow any benchmark, instead set their own. Two days that whizzed by making it a dreamlike experience would not have been possible for us artists if it wasn’t curated with the elegance by the true artists, you, the organisers. ‘You are what you do’ and through the cherishable experiences I left with, I know you all are warm, hardworking, relentless beings with a spirit strong enough to host many more groundbreaking events. The seven day festival is an aspiration only a few steps away from being a reality.
The WIC India Dehradun Literature Festival is one of the most charming and intimate literature festivals that I have participated in. The personal attention to detail by Nazia and Mukta makes one forget that it is a festival at all. Delightful venue, warm hosts, perfectly balanced line-up of speakers and sessions, enthusiastic audience… what more does one want?
The Lit Fest organized by the WIC, was, in my opinion, a leap of faith. Yes, we all know that Dehradun has its share of authors and readers , but whether they would be in sufficient numbers or indeed motivated enough to actually participate in a Lit Fest spread out over two days, was anyone’s guess. I think it took considerable courage and conviction for WIC to go ahead with the venture. And I am glad they did, as indeed would be many others in the city. It was wonderful to sit back and lap up the different sessions along with a sea of animated young faces who participated enthusiastically with questions. As a first time author, I personally felt that it was a great platform and enabled me to reach out to many young folk. I am quite sure that this venture will only get bigger and better each succeeding year.
I had a wonderful time at the Festival, the warmth and welcome extended was marvelous. Apart from meeting other writers, there were the children that really stole the show for me. You now have committed yourself to doing this every year, or you’ll probably have a lot of indignant authors and readers (and children) asking you difficult questions! So keep going and looking forward to the next Festival!aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. My experience at WIC India Dehradun Literature Festival – I would like to say that what touched was not just the warmth but also an atmosphere of informality and ease. There were no fussy frills and none of those gaudy bandobasts but serious interactive sessions.
